After airport formalities you will be met by your tour leader, Hercules. He will welcome you and you will get a short briefing before departing on a 40 minute drive to our hotel in Windhoek.
After breakfast, we head out of the city, destination: Kalahari. Lunch along the way. Tonight, we overnight in the beautiful Kalahari region where there is a possibility for an optional sunset safari. Cocktails included.
Two major attractions on our program today: the Quiver Tree Forest & The Giants Playground. Lunch on the way. We overnight near the Fish River Canyon. Dinner at the lodge.
Morning visit to the Canyon. Hiking shoes recommended. Lunch on the way. Overnight in the quaint little dusty town of Helmeringhausen.
After breakfast we have a beautiful drive through the semi-desert landscapes of Namibia to Sesriem, the gateway to the Namib Naukluft National Park. Spend the afternoon at leisure at the pool, or join one of the activities on offer by the lodge. Dinner at the lodge.
Early morning rise & shine! Our aim this morning is to enter the park before sunrise and get to Dune 45 to get a glimpse of sunrise from the top! Breakfast will be waiting for you when you return from your climb. After breakfast on to Deadvlei & Sossusvlei. Another steep climb awaits you (if you choose to of course) to the top of Big Daddy. From the top you get a magnificent view of Deadvlei. Sunscreen absolutely essential! Next up: a visit to the Sesriem Canyon. Lunch at the park Restaurant. A short drive to our next accomodation for a relaxing afternoon at the pool. Dinner at the lodge.
Another scenic drive awaits us on route to Swakopmund. We do a few photo stops along the way, admiring the ever-changing landscapes. We stop in Walvis Bay to find the flamingoes. Lunch along the way. In the afternoon we do the 15 km long "Welwitschia Drive", learning about the "Living Fossils Of The Namib". Overnight in Swakopmund. Pick any of the many restaurants in town for dinner.
Free day today. Swakopmund has much to offer. You will be taken to an activity center, where you can do any of the activities on offer. Dinner is again at own discretion.
First on our program today is a visit to the Cape Cross seal colony. See, hear & smell hundreds of Cape Fur Seals from very close by! We go inland from here to Twyfelfontein to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we do a tour on foot to a set of well preserved Bushmen rock engravings. A visit to the petrified forest is also on the cards, if time allows. Dinner at the lodge.
On route to the iconic Etosha National Park today! Lunch on the way. Afternoon at leisure at the lodge or choose to join any activities offered. Dinner at the lodge.
Early departure. We do a full day safari in our own vehicle, or you can choose to go on a safari in an open safari vehicle for own account. Lunch in the park. Dinner at the lodge.
Back to the start of our tour today with a lunch stop & visit to a crafts market in Okahandja. Dinner in Windhoek at own discretion.
After breakfast we depart on a morning city tour. We visit the parliament buildings, Christuskirche, Ate Feste (old fortress), Independence Museum & the Gibeon Meteorites in town center. Lunch in the city. Afternoon at leisure for souvenir & gift shopping. Farewell dinner, if applicable, will be at Joe's Beerhouse.
For the adventurers who also booked the extension to Botswana & Zimbabwe, see Day 14 below. Those who booked the base program only, you will be flying home today.
We leave Windhoek behind in an eastern direction to the Botswana border and along the way we visit the N/a'an ku se Wildlife Sanctuary. Lunch along the way. We overnight near Buitepos. Dinner at the lodge.
After border formalities, a long drive today, approximately 550 k to the town of Maun. Lunch on the way.
A visit to the Okavango Delta is essential. Experience the splendor of the Delta in your own chosen way: traditional mokoro, safari vehicle or airplane. Dinner at the lodge.
We visit the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on route to our next lodge in Nata. Lunch on the way, picnic style. Late afternoon arrival at our lodge. Dinner at the lodge.
We arrive at our next lodge in Kasane, around lunch time. A sunset cruise on the Chobe river is a must. Catch a most beautiful sunset from the boat. For dinner, there are a few choices in town, but dinner at the lodge recommended.
A morning safari in the Chobe National Park is recommended. To be arranged locally before-hand and at own cost. After lunch we depart for Zimbabwe. Have documents handy for the border. Dinner preferably at the lodge, although there are other choices available.
A morning visit to the mighty Victoria Falls is a must, and is included in your package. There are however many other activities available and different ways to explore the falls. See the falls from a plane or helicopter, visit the Angel- or Devil's Pools on the Zambian side, or do the main walk on the Zimbabwe side. We will our farewell dinner tonight.
Our adventure has come to an end. You will fly home today.
